Luke Beesley is a multi-award winning writer. He’s also an artist and singer-songwriter.

He lives and works on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung land in Naarm/Melbourne.

His latest book In the Photograph (Giramondo) was shortlisted for the 2024 Prime Minister's Literary Awards. Luke's previous collection of poetry Aqua Spinach (Giramondo) was shortlisted for the ALS Gold Medal.

In addition to his highly regarded books, which include Jam Sticky Vision and New Works on Paper, his poetry has been published widely in Australia and internationally and has been translated into several languages. His doctoral thesis, on the New York School poet Barbara Guest, won a Dean's prize.

He also writes articles for publications such as The Monthly, The Guardian and Sydney Review of Books.

Luke performs a minimalist folk-rock as Cornflake Sunset. His debut album is Double Portrait. From 2009 to 2015 he performed as New Archer with drummer Ian Wadley (Minimum Chips, Mick Turner).

His drawings have been exhibited and published widely.

Luke is currently working on a piece of creative nonfiction, which includes photos and drawings, drafted during his Abbotsford Convent Writer's Residency.
